Whatever you have been sitting on, whatever you have been telling yourself you will start when you feel like it or when the timing is right or when the stars align, this is your sign to just do the thing.
I mean it. Do the thing.
Yesterday my whole area flooded. Power out. WiFi in and out for a day and a half. I could have skipped this newsletter, called it a wash, and picked up next week. Nobody would have blamed me. Trust, I thought about it.
Then I saw this KevOnStage video right before I sat down to write this, and it hit me right on time.
He was talking about consistency. About the fact that it doesn’t matter if you don’t want to do it but you NEED to do it. Because discipline means doing it whether you want to or not…our dreams/goals require it.
That was the exact reframe I needed.
I did not want to write this today. I am tired. My WiFi is barely holding. My laptop is at 14 percent. And I am writing this anyway, because that is the deal I made with you and the deal I made with myself.
Discipline over motivation. Every. Single. Time.
Here is what I want you to take from this.
You have been stalling on something. I know you have. Everybody reading this has one thing they have been carrying around for weeks, months, years, that they keep putting off until the conditions are right.
The conditions are never going to be right.
The WiFi is never going to be perfect. The mood is never going to be perfect. The timing is never going to be perfect. The version of you who feels ready is never going to arrive.
The version of you who does it anyway is available today. Right now. In the state you are currently in, with the tools you currently have, with the exhaustion you currently feel, with the doubt you currently carry.
That is the only version of you that matters.
So today, wherever you are, do the thing.
If it’s making content, make the content.
If it’s posting consistently, post today.
If it’s writing consistently, open the doc.
If it’s getting back on stage, book the room.
If it’s pitching the show, send the email.
Whatever it is, do it. Today. Once. And then again tomorrow.
That is what discipline looks like. Not a lightning strike of motivation. Not a viral moment. Not a perfect setup. Just one more rep on a day you didn’t feel like it, when nobody would have blamed you for skipping.
The people who build something real do this every day. Nobody talks about it because it’s not glamorous. But it is what moves the needle!
You are one rep away from being in the game today.
Take it.
If this hit you the right way, forward it to one person still waiting for the conditions to be right.
xx - Jerrica
