Before we jump in.

Thank you for all of your responses to Wednesday's email. They are still coming in, so I will let you know where I land on the two sends a week question once I have a fuller picture because I’m still getting through emails over 500!!

I am also still reviewing the podcast interest and wow. So many talented people. I appreciate you wanting to be a part of this. For the first season I am only filming a few episodes, but I plan to do many more in the very near future as I prepare for what's next. More on that soon.

Now let's get into it.

Just Do It

If you have been sitting on something for weeks, months, maybe years, this is for you.

If you have been rewriting the same pitch, the same script, the same email, the same post over and over and over, this is for you.

If you have been calling it "getting it right" when really it's just stalling, this is definitely for you. Because I have been you this week.

I had two conversations that changed how I'm moving forward. Both were hard. Both were exactly what I needed. Both came from people who are a few steps ahead of me and were willing to be honest with me.

Conversation One

The first was with a woman who has been at this longer than I have. She creates content professionally. She knows what's working. She's on this newsletter too, so if you're reading this: thank you for the candid conversation. I needed it.

Her advice to me was simple.

Just do it.

Just do it. Stop rewriting. Send it. Send your project out. Get it out of your head and into the world.

And I sat with that because she's right. I have been stalling. I have been letting things formulate in my mind instead of putting them out. I have not been taking enough action. Not enough action oriented movement. Just thinking. Just planning. Just polishing something that only needed to be shipped.

Conversation Two

The second was with someone who has been killing it on Instagram lately. Engagement through the roof. Growth every week. The kind of results that make you want to know exactly what they're doing.

I told them: I have been posting consistently for the last two weeks about my show and my Kickstarter. What am I missing?

And they gave me real feedback. Actionable. Specific. And the wildest part? Most of it was advice I have given other people. Advice I know. Advice I have written down in my own notes.

It hit different hearing it from someone else. It hit different being in the receiving seat instead of the giving seat.

The two things I keep thinking about from that conversation:

Make people care.

Tell your story. Tell it more. Tell it in more innovative ways.

That's it. That's the note. Not "post more." Not "use trending audio." Just tell your story better and give people a reason to care.

What This Is About For You

Here's the part I want you to sit with.

You cannot get better in isolation. You cannot see your own blind spots. You cannot fix what you cannot see. The only way to level up is to find people who are a few steps ahead of you and ask them, actually ask them, what they see when they look at your work.

Not your friends who love you. Not your family who wants to protect your feelings. Not the people in your echo chamber who tell you it looks great.

The people who have done what you want to do. Or the people who are doing what you want to do right now. The people who will look at your work and tell you the truth, even when it stings a little.

And when they tell you, listen. Don't defend. Don't explain the context. Don't tell them why you did it that way. Just listen. Take the note. And go apply it.

I sat in a meeting recently with other creatives where we talked about storytelling and making people care about your work. About you as a creative. About the thing you're trying to build. And the through line was always the same. People don’t only care about your project. They care about why it matters, what it means, and who they get to become when they engage with it.

That is the work. That is always the work.

So this week, ask.

Ask the person you have been afraid to reach out to. Ask the person you know will be honest. Ask the person you have been quietly following and comparing yourself to. Send the message. Book the call. Get the feedback.

Then just do it. Stop rewriting. Send it. Post it. Ship it. Launch it.

...The only way out is through.

Talk Wednesday.

Speaking of "Just Doing It"

I'm taking my own advice.

My Kickstarter for my new series drops September 14. I'm raising $10,000 to make this show happen.

Right now I'm building my early access launch list. These are the people who will get first look, first access, weigh in on decisions, and the chance to back the campaign the moment it goes live. If you want in, check out my landing page here.

I also just started a Facebook group for future backers who want the inside scoop, behind the scenes, and to be part of building this thing with me from the ground floor. Join the group here.

If you like what I'm building and want to help me greenlight myself, this is exactly the moment to show up.

Every name on the launch list. Every early backer. Every share. It all matters.

Let's make this show together.

Greenlight Yourself is where Hollywood meets the creator economy. Building the future of creator-led entertainment, one send at a time.

The Slate Planner drops soon-ish.

This is the exact tool I use to map every case study, essay, podcast episode, and vertical series inside Greenlight Yourself. It's how you turn one big idea into a repeatable universe of content you can actually ship.

Waitlist is still open. Get on it so you're first to buy when the doors open.

Tools you can use to Greenlight Yourself:

beehiiv — If you want an audience you actually own, this is the move. The newsletter lives here. The podcast will be here too.
Wispr Flow — For every joke and idea that hits on a long walk with my dog. Talk it in, it's written. Clutch when you're not at your desk. Every creative needs this.
Buffer — How I show up consistently on Threads, Instagram, and LinkedIn without being online daily.
Cal.com — Calendar management when you've got a thousand things on your plate. If you're greenlighting yourself with a 9-to-5, this is non-negotiable.
Granola — AI note-taking for every meeting. I show up and listen, not type.

Some links are affiliate links. I only recommend tools I actually use.
